Have you tried out Odosketch? it's a free site where you can create a fun sketch with a beautiful soft color palette. The sketched files can be saved to be embed and used online. When you draw, each brush stroke is saved independently, making for cute animated films. You could also save the final illustrations for use in a future printed project.
